Other Entry Requirements Applicants must have working experience and/or training in the health and social care sector to possess prior knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of working in health and social care environments.
Course Description This course provides students who aim to work in coordination or managerial position within the health and social care field with sound leadership and management skills required to ensure good quality care services. Prospective or current care services managers will be provided with opportunities to develop their theoretical understanding as well as evidence-based practices that will ultimately lead to quality outcomes for service-users. They will be exposed to the development of analytical and reflective skills as they explore ethical considerations when making decisions that will impact the wellbeing of service users, to good governance and quality management in delivery of effective care services as well as the use of relevant policies and effective operational procedures. The course also includes social policy practice component to enable students to assess the impact of social policy practice component to enable students to assess the impact of social policy on different sectors including health sector, community service and social care. The course develops the students’ knowledge and understanding of multidisciplinary work in health and social care settings. Students will learn how to secure high-quality services for end-users, as well as sustainability to their care organizations. It gives the learners the opportunity to master a working knowledge of the principles and practice of quality management and governance in the health and social care environment. The course will allow learners to demonstrate their knowledge on history developments and policy when working within a broad social science framework as well as ethical issues.
