What is MCAST doing about the coronavirus situation?

MCAST is taking all the necessary preventative measures and following guidance from the Maltese health authorities. The MCAST Health Support Committee was set-up to coordinate MCAST’s response so that immediate action is taken in all circumstances. As from 13 March MCAST will be closed and no classes will be held until 20 March. This information will be updated and we will continue to follow the advice of health authorities.


I recently travelled and am feeling unwell. What should I do?

If you have recently been travelling or are concerned you may have symptoms,
you should:Remain in your place of quarantinePhone the Public Health Helpline on 111 or (+356) 21324086 for advice.Do not go to private clinics, emergency department, health centres or other healthcare facilities. Read these guidelines


 I travelled back from one of the countries on which a travel ban was imposed and need to quarantine. What should I do? Who do I inform?

It is obligatory to quarantine yourself. Staff members should also contact the Human Resources Director denise.cortis@mcast.edu.mt and their director. The helpline dedicated to quarantine related issues is 21 411 411.

I have work/study travel planned in the coming days. Should I still go?

All MCAST-related international travel for work/study is postponed. Please follow all the travel advice given by the authorities. You should also avoid non-essential travel to the list of countries as listed by the health authorities.


A family member living in my same household visited one of the countries on which a travel ban has been imposed, should I stay at home?

Yes, even in this case you need to quarantine yourself. The helpline dedicated to quarantine related issues is 21 411 411.


I am on an internship in Malta and I need information about travelling back to my country.

You can contact the International Office who will help you with this.


Will lectures at MCAST take place?

As from 13 March MCAST lectures are cancelled. If there are any changes, students and staff will be notified immediately.
We understand that this closure disrupts your routine and plans for the coming week. You will understandably have many questions and we aim to keep you updated in the coming days through our circulars, website and social media.
