COVID-19 MCAST RESPONSE

Following the Government announcement on the closure of all educational institutions, MCAST and all its institutions will be closed. We are taking the following steps:

 icon-exclamationMCAST campuses and all its institutes will be closed from 13 March to 20 March, both days included. All students and academic staff are to stay at home during this period or until further notice.

 All placements, apprenticeships and community/voluntary work related to study programmes are suspended, and students are excused.

 All part-time courses delivered on campus are also suspended.

 Any submission of home assignments on Unicheck should proceed as normal.

 Any hard copy assignments need to be submitted as soon as the college reopens.

 Any other planned TCAs/ class assignments etc. will also be suspended and new target dates will be communicated at a later stage.

 MCAST will meeting the Malta Union of Teachers on 13 March to discuss the possibility of providing online learning.

 We understand that this closure disrupts your routine and plans for the coming week. You will understandably have many questions, and we aim to keep you updated in the coming days through our circulars, website and social media.

 MCAST students and staff are asked to follow all guidelines as issued by the health authorities in Malta and the World Health Organisation.
As from 11 March, students and staff who return to Malta from France, Spain, Switzerland and Germany will be subject to 14 days of mandatory quarantine.
If you have travelled to Italy, China (including Hong Kong), Singapore, Japan, Iran and South Korea, from 27 February 2020 onwards, you will be subject to 14 days of mandatory quarantine. This period starts from the last day that you were in any of these countries.
 As from 11 March, all visits to MCAST by international students, examiners are postponed until further notice. Study visits by MCAST staff and students to any country are also postponed until further notice. The international office will provide guidance.
