The Master of Science in Professional Health Practice is a multi-professional programme of study which is not only aimed at practitioners aspiring to develop and work at an advanced level of practice but is also tailored for those individuals who are already working at an advanced level within their area of practice. The programme will equip prospective candidates with the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours (values and attitudes) to work at an advanced clinical level, exercise autonomy and decision-making in the context of complexity, uncertainty and varying levels of risk and holding accountability for the decisions that they are required to make.
Prospective students are envisaged to come from a range of regulated healthcare professions such as nursing, pharmacy, therapeutic or diagnostic radiography, physiotherapy, paramedics and occupational therapy, and who work in a variety of specialties, settings or sectors. They will have the opportunity to study in an interdisciplinary environment which will provide a more holistic approach to their clinical skills.

* A Postgraduate Certificate is achieved at 30 Credits
* A Postgraduate Diploma is achieved at 60 Credits
Students are invited to consult the MCAST Exit Strategy, for the procedure to follow when requesting Exit Point certification.

A Master programme of study will take off (being on full-time or part-time mode of study) dependent on a minimum number of eligible applicants.
Il-Master of Science in Professional Health Practice huwa programm ta’ studju multiprofessjonali li mhux intiż biss għal dawk li qed jeżerċitaw il-professjoni tagħhom u qed jaspiraw li jiżviluppaw il-ħiliet tagħhom biex jaħdmu f’livell aktar avvanzat, iżda huwa maħsub ukoll għal dawk l-individwi li l-prattika tagħhom hija diġà waħda ta’ livell avvanzat. Il-programm jarma lill-kandidati prospettivi bl-għarfien, il-ħiliet, l-imġiba professjonali (valuri u attitudnijiet) biex jagħmlu xogħol kliniku ta’ livell avvanzat, jeżerċitaw l-awtonomija u jieħdu deċiżjonijiet f’kuntesti ta’ komplessità, inċertezza u livelli varji ta’ riskju, filwaqt li jżommu ruħhom responsabbli għad-deċiżjonijiet li jkollhom jieħdu. L-istudenti prospettivi huma mistennija li jiġu minn għadd ta’ professjonijiet regolati fil-kura tas-saħħa, bħan-nursing, il-farmaċija, ir-radjografija terapewtika jew djanjostika, il-fiżjoterapija, il-paramediċi u l-occupational therapists, li jaħdmu fi speċjalitajiet, ambjenti u setturi differenti. Dawn ikollhom l-opportunità li jitgħallmu f’ambjent interdixxiplinarju, u hekk irawmu fihom perspettiva aktar ħolistika fir-rigward tal-ħiliet kliniċi tagħhom.
