The Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice is intended for those qualified nurses who want to improve their skills across the four pillars of advanced clinical practice. The programme will equip prospective candidates with the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours (values and attitudes) to work at an advanced clinical level, exercise autonomy and decision-making in the context of complexity, uncertainty and varying levels of risk, and hold accountability for the decisions that they are required to make.
Prospective students for the Advanced Clinical Practice course are envisaged to come from a range of clinical nursing areas and are working in a variety of specialties, settings or sectors. They will have the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge that will allow them to extend their scope of practice to better meet the needs of the patients under their care. Developing advanced clinical practice skills is considered an important component of contemporary workforce planning.

Unless otherwise indicated through the respective Programme Specifications, as well as the MCAST Exit Policy document,
* A Postgraduate Certificate is achieved at 30 Credits
* A Postgraduate Diploma is achieved at 60 Credits
Students are invited to consult the MCAST Exit Strategy, for the procedure to follow when requesting Exit Point certification.

A Master programme of study will take off (being on full-time or part-time mode of study) dependent on a minimum number of eligible applicants.

kwalifikati li jridu jtejbu l-ħiliet tagħhom fl-erba’ pilastri tal-klinika prattika avvanzata. Il-programm se jgħin lill-kandidati prospettivi bl-għarfien, il-ħiliet u l-imgieba professjonali (valuri u attitudnijiet) biex jaħdmu f’livell avvanzat, jeżerċitaw awtonomija u jieħdu deċiżjonijiet fil-kuntest ta’ kumplessità, inċertezza u livelli varji ta’ riskju, u jieħdu responsabbiltà għad-deċiżjonijiet li huma meħtieġa. L-istudenti prospettivi għall-kors jistgħu jiġu mill-qasam minn diversi oqsma tal-infermiera klinka u li jaħdmu f’varjetà ta’ speċjalitajiet, ambjenti jew setturi. Huma se jkollhom l-opportunità li jiksbu l-ħiliet u l-għarfien li jippermettulhom jestendu l-ambitu tal-prattika tagħhom biex jissodisfaw aħjar il-ħtiġijiet tal-pazjenti taħt il-kura tagħhom. L-iżvilupp ta’ ħiliet fil-klinika avvanzata huwa meqjus bħala aspett importanti tal-ippjanar f’dan ix-xogħol.

Duration: PT 6 semesters
Entry requirements: A first degree (MQF Level 6) in Nursing and in possession of a valid registration.
Candidates who are not in possession of a valid warrant, will be able to start off the programme, but will not be in a position to complete the full Master programme until they achieve such.
