The photographic industry requires young creatives who want to take the plunge into the world of professional image making. The industry requires competitive young professionals who can meet the on-going clients’ demands for fresh and unique ideas for images in a variety of contexts. This course focuses on giving prospective photographers a very near real-life educational experience of what can be experienced in the photographic industries. Learners are exposed to the specialist areas of artistic photographic print making, location photography and studio photography. Towards the end of each academic year the learners develop their own thematic photographic concepts and produce two major photographic projects. The course also includes DSLR photography, studio photography, studio lighting, monochrome darkroom photographic printing, and advanced postproduction techniques using Adobe Photoshop.
L-industrija tal-fotografija tirrikjedi persuni żgħażagħ kreattivi li jridu jidħlu fid-dinja tat-teħid professjonali tal-immaġni. L-industrija tirrikjedi professjonisti żgħażagħ kompetittivi li jistgħu jissodisfaw id-domandi kontinwi tal-klijenti għal ideat friski u uniċi għat-teħid ta’ immaġnijiet f’varjetà ta’ kuntesti. Dan huwa kors vokazzjonali ta’ sentejn li jagħti lil fotografi prospettivi esperjenza edukattiva realistika simili għal dik li jistgħu jesperjenzaw fl-industriji tal-fotografija. L-istudenti jkunu esposti għall-oqsma speċjalizzati ta’ artistic photographic print making, location photography u studio photography. Lejn l-aħħar ta’ kull sena akkademika, l-istudenti jiżviluppaw il-kunċetti fotografiċi tematiċi tagħhom stess u jipproduċu żewġ proġetti fotografiċi ewlenin. Il-kors jinkludi wkoll DSLR photography, studio photography, studio lighting, monochrome darkroom photographic printing, u tekniki avvanzati ta’ wara l-produzzjoni bl-użu ta’ Adobe Photoshop.

Entry Requirements: MCAST Diploma in Art and Design or MCAST Diploma in Media or 4 SEC/O-Level/SSC&P (Level 3) passes Preferred: Art, English Language
Applicants may be asked to sit for an Interview and/or present a Portfolio.
