MCAST Students awarded City & Guilds Gold Medals for Excellence

On Thursday 15 April 2010, students Quintin Grech from the Institute of Building and Construction Engineering and John Vella from the Institute of Mechanical Engineering were awarded the City & Guilds Gold Medals for Excellence in joinery and automobile engineering respectively. The awards were presented by Mr Artur Rego, City & Guilds Business Development Manager in the presence of Prof Maurice Grech, MCAST Principal/CEO, Dr Richard Evans, Fellow of City & Guilds, Directors of Institutes and lecturing staff.

Medals for Excellence are meant to reward exceptional students whose work stands out amongst that of thousands of students from hundreds of colleges world wide.

Mr Artur Rego stated that “City and Guilds recognises the effort of both students and tutors.” Dr. Evans noted that Malta was top of the list when considering award per capita.

Prof Maurice Grech, MCAST Principal/CEO congratulated the students and tutors. He pointed out that MCAST receives similar awards every year, proof of the calibre of students and staff and the high standing of the college.
