Going beyond our Library Buildings
Besides the physical items found on our shelves (printed books and periodicals, data and sound CDs, data and film DVDs, Videos etc.) the library also gives access to some electronic on-line information.
The following are the on-line information sources that the library subscribes against payment and that you can use for free. Get in touch with us to get details about usernames and passwords.

1. Emerald - Full text on-line periodicals mainly in the management field
The Library subscribes to 30 Full-text on-line Journals, all published by Emerald mainly in the area of applied and vocational management as follows:
You can access these articles and the abstracts of another 300 titles at http://www.emeraldinsight.com/Insight/. From College PCs in most Institutes and Administration buildings (not just library PCs) you do not need a password. The exceptions are the Building and Construction Engineering Library in Naxxar, the Maritime Library in Kalkara and the Agribusiness Library in Qormi. If you are at these Libraries or at home email us to get the current Username and Password.
2. Open J-Gate portal - Free periodicals
Other free full text Journals may be viewed at the Open J-Gate portal produced by Informatics India Ltd. Open J-Gate is an electronic gateway to global journal literature in open access domain. Open J-Gate provides seamless access to millions of journal articles available online. Open J-Gate is also a database of journal literature, indexed from 3000+ open access journals, with links to full text at Publisher sites.
3. Web-links Research - Useful Web-sites for Colleges
The Library also subscribes to http://www.weblinksresearch.co.uk/login/ This is a subject categorised listing of selected and reviewed international Internet sites useful for College students and lecturers. The Library moreover can subscribe individuals to an on-line service called Teach With Movies http://www.teachwithmovies.org/ which gives ideas and detailed lessons plans how to use a particular film for discussion purposes according to age group, value or issue you would like to highlight. 5. ESL-Library.com - Resource site for language teachers
This service found at http://www.esl-library.com/ offers language teachers from all over the world access to thousands of printable flashcards and hundreds of ready-made lesson plans for the classroom. Speak to The BSU coordinator about making use of ESL-Library.com.

lynda.com is an Online Training LibraryŽ including such subjects as Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Office, digital photography, Web design, digital video, MS Office 2007 products and many others. lynda.com's trainers and teachers provide comprehensive and unbiased movie-based training to an international membership of tens of thousands of subscribers. 7. In-house Periodicals - Electronic and in-house print version
The Library subscribes to over 400 periodical publications in print form. Several of these publications have electronic content either as full- or summary text articles of current issues or else articles from pat issues with search facilities on past issues content. Though our on-line public access catalogue (OPAC - search our catalogue page) we provide a direct link to the electronic content of many of the print periodical titles we subscribe to. A list of periodicals subscribed to can be found by going to the search our catalogue page and entering "periodicals" in the "subject heading" field and sorting by title or by class to group titles on the same subject together. Once a title is chosen, from the detailed item contents page select the "Digital version" field content to go straight to electronic pages of the periodical title chosen.
8. Researching and writing your assignment
The following Internet pages (free) http://www.ipl.org/div/teen/aplus/ give you excellent tips on how to research and write your assignment. All our libraries provide PCs with free access to Internet for research and study purposes and you can also print your assignments in the Library.
