Interview and Portfolio

An understanding of Media Studies has become critically essential in today’s society. This is a diverse sector compared to other types of industries and there are various different potential careers, ranging from creative and technical roles to commercial and administration-based jobs. The MCAST-BTEC Higher National Diploma in Media (Moving Image) offers learners the opportunity to build a strong portfolio of audio-visual productions.
Throughout the programme, you will be challenged to work on real-life cases, applying theoretical knowledge to practical projects. Work is often conducted in teams, and you will be in a position to take up different roles so as to give you exposure in all media areas.

Course delivery is given through workshops, lectures and practical experience opportunities to work in teams and complete real-life projects. Media students use industry-standard camera and editing technology and facitlities, hence increasing their chances for employment within the media sector, both locally and internationally.

Media students will be assessed on their knowledge and practical learning skills in media studies. Learners are assessed on an ongoing basis against a list of guided criteria given in assignment briefs prior the start of each Unit.
