Course Description
The MCAST-BTEC Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in this sector. This course equips individuals with knowledge, understanding and skills for success in employment or to further their studies through the top-up degree programme. Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to work alone or in groups in the development production of creative graphic design work in response to assignment briefs based on real-life cases.
This programme is delivered over a series of practical assignments backed up by theoretical knowledge in the fundamentals of graphic design as a discipline. Beyond the set guided learning hours, students are expected to work independently.

Assessment
Graphic Design students will be assessed on their knowledge and practical learning skills as evidenced in their project work. Learners are assessed against set criteria provided in a number of assignment briefs, for which they have to present a number of evidences to support achievement of key competences.
