Course Description
The programme is designed to allow students with a School Leaving Certificate to follow a study in the area of IT. The course includes a significant amount of vocational practice that will help students to form a clear idea of the nature of the trade or vocation of IT.
Students will receive a proper understanding of the basic areas that make up Information and Communication Technology. This course is the first in a series of programmes that will prepare individuals to work within the Computing Industry.
The course is a preparatory course and is not intended to prepare you for employment within the ICT Industry.
Study/Course Delivery
Delivery is a mix of lectures with an emphasis on the practical work in class under the supervision of the lecturer. A significant amount of additional work need to be carried out by the student at home. There is emphasis on further improving the key skills of the students in Mathematics, English, Maltese and Civic Competencies
Assessment
Delivery is a mix of lectures with an emphasis on the practical work in class under the supervision of the lecturer. Assessment of each module is based on a system of continuous assessment through various numbers of assignments. There will be two attempts for each assignment.
