The programme is designed to provide necessary key skills training in English, Maltese, Mathematics and Personal Development Skills, as well as fundamentals of Computer Systems and Web applications.
Students will begin to appreciate the basic components that make up a computer, and the interaction of the components with each other to allow us to use the computer as an effective tool for study, work and leisure.
Due to the major impact that the internet has had on society at large, students will also be introduced to the significance of the internet in today’s world, as well as the use of email as one of the most popular means of communication.
Study/Course Delivery
Delivery takes place in the form of lectures with a lot of practical work both in class and at home. Part of the material of the key skills is embedded in the vocational modules.
Assessment
Assessment of each module is based on a system of continuous assessment through various numbers of assignments. The assignments can be home or class. Each assignment tests a number of criteria covered during lessons. To successfully complete the course a student must pass ALL criteria from all assignments. There are two available attempts for each assignment.
