Course Description
The Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (Civil Engineering) is based on both off-the-job and on-the-job training. It provides an in-depth knowledge and experience of the general requirements and specialist areas in the field of building and construction.
This enables you to be able to carry out duties, at a professional and technical level, that are continuously required in an architects office or firms dealing in construction and civil engineering projects such as Design, Land Surveying, Geospatial Engineering and Quantity Surveying and infrastructure projects.
Study/Course Delivery
During the course learners are also given the opportunity to develop personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working career.
Assessment
This MCAST-BTEC programme is sub-divided into a number of units. Each unit may be assessed through various forms of assessment instruments, including project-oriented tasks, technical reports, take-home assignments, practical tasks, portfolios, employer related projects and/or time constarined tests.

Identify main equipment, media and techniques used in the production of drawings to detail civil engineering installations
Produce final quantities from dimensions and descriptions of construction and civil engineering works
