The aim of the Sports Department at MCAST is to encourage as many students as possible to participate in physical activity and sport so as to have fun, get fit, make exercise a lifetime habit, to socialize, to be part of a team and to engage in a healthy pastime.
Activities organized within the sports department include football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, break-dance, aerobics/dance, weight-training, fitness-training, darts, chess, table-tennis and much more.
Leagues and competitions are organized between various institutes and also with other post-secondary institutions. Adventure sports, outside school activities and beach activities are very popular too.
The sports department offers students the opportunity to try out various activities by giving talks and demonstrations in sports such as kickboxing, rugby, baseball, weight-lifting, bowling, martial arts and more. Advice on nutrition, weight management, fitness programmes, sport psychology, performance-enhancing techniques, affiliation with sports associations, national and international competitions is also available.
The department is continuously working on improving the sports facilities on the various campuses so as to be able to offer students a large variety of activities.
